The story tells about the life of a middle-class family from São Paulo in the 1920–1940s.
The Julio and Lola couples have four children.
Carlos is the responsible and pride of the family, but he has a difficult affair with Ines, since the mother is against their relationship;
Alfredo – lives in conflict with his parents because of rebellious and violent behavior, in addition, he hates his older brother, envies him.
Isabelle – spoiled and capricious, shocking everyone when she comes in contact with Felicio, a man much older than her.
Juligno – strives for wealth and social growth, seeing the possibility of this, marrying Soraya, daughter of the wealthy Assad. After her husband’s premature death, Lola starts selling homemade sweets to support her family and not let her fall apart.
For three decades, viewers will follow the history of this family, which is experiencing moments of difference, in which the bonds, strengthened by love, friendship and hope, are necessary so that it remains united.
